Why is there real merit in supporting and partnering with Bob Jones University's Heritage Society?

Plainly stated in the BJU charter are these scripturally grounded purposes for its existence: "The... object of the corporation shall be to conduct an institution of learning for the general education of youth in the essentials of culture and in the arts and sciences, giving special emphasis to the Christian religion and the ethics revealed in the Holy Scriptures...."

Further, we find in the university's philosophy statement: "BJU endeavors to teach students to know God and to imitate Him in His character and in His work."

Scrutiny of these objectives reveals BJU's scripturally balanced endeavor-equipping the students entrusted to it through academic, spiritual, cultural, and evangelistic focus. This balance in a university program is rare and one in which BJU excels.

These are lofty objectives. Are they actually accomplished? We have been around campus long enough to have observed over and over somewhat anxious unsure, immature students begin their freshman year; and then to observe those students four years later evidence a spiritual, academic, cultural, and confident maturity. The BJU experience works-and it has for years.

I can't think of many better investments than to be a partner with the University through the Heritage Society. It is an honor and a special privilege to have a part in establishing students in timeless objectives. In addition, as these students continue in life, the investment bears fruit from generation to generation (Deuteronomy 6).

What a vital and eternally profitable investment!
